Experience the Camp Cory Difference

Achievement Focused Programming

Achievement is at the forefront of everything we do at Camp Cory. We believe that children can challenge themselves in so many areas. This is why Camp Cory offers our Skill Tags to every camper to recognize their achievements in activity areas and character development. Every day your camper will come home with stories of how they achieved!

Let Us Take Care of Lunch

At Camp Cory, we believe that a camper’s experience is shaped by the community we create. Every day, our campers and staff come together for mealtime to sing songs, cheer, and give us the energy we need for the day. It is for this reason we are so proud of the food we serve to our campers. We also make sure that we are prepared for campers with vegetarian and gluten-free options for every meal. Parents always have the option to pack their campers a lunch that adheres to our nut-free facility policy, or sign up to receive camp's lunch at an additional cost.

Campers in our day camp get the opportunity to explore a variety of different activities during their day at camp. Whether you're flying down the zip line at high ropes or hitting the bullseye at archery - their day will be packed with activities.

Quality Staff

Camp Cory boasts a group of extremely dedicated full-time and seasonal staff. Many of our staff members attended camp as campers and we are thrilled that over 60% of our staff return each summer. In addition to three reference checks, Camp Cory completes a rigorous criminal background check on every potential staff member before being offered employment.

What are the Day Camp Hours

Our main camp day runs from 8:30 am-4:45 pm, though we offer extended care starting at 7 am and ending at 6 pm free of charge. Unless it is otherwise necessary, we ask that parents drop off by 8:30 am and pick up between 4:45 and 6 pm. We find that the camp experience is so much more meaningful for the campers if they can be there for the entirety of the main camp day.

If you would like to drop off or pick up your camper outside of the above hours, please call or text our Day Camp Phone: 585-313-3876

Where is drop-off and pick-up?

Day Camp Drop-Off and Pick-Up occur at the Day Camp Barn, the red building right off East Lake Road.

What is the process for check-in and check-out?

Drop off consists only of signing your child in and checking in with the staff with any questions or additional information.
Please bring a photo ID to pick-up. Only authorized individuals are allowed to pick up, which includes those listed as parents or emergency contacts on the parent dashboard. If you would like to authorize any additional adults to pick up your child from camp, please email the names to our Program Director Mikenna Donze.
Please bring your photo ID every day. The staff doing check in and check out will rotate.

Please pull into the barn and follow the signs around the truck for traffic flow, and please remain in your vehicle. For our youngest campers, if you would like, please park on the south side of the barn to then check-in with the staff at the door and bring your camper to their group.

  • Check In: A Cory staff member will check your child into our system.
  • Check Out: We will call for your child on the walkie-talkie and check your photo ID before having you sign out.
What are the different villages in Day Camp?

Cosmos

Ages 3-5 or preschool through kindergarten
Our youngest village gives campers the opportunity to experience age-appropriate camp activities while also continuing their education and preparing for beyond the camp environment with daily learning projects. These can vary from arts & crafts, STEM activity, and small group games. We offer a rest/nap time for the friends that still need it. We do ask that your camper be bathroom independent, as our staff do not have the resources to change diapers but can assist in the restroom when needed. However, we do know that accidents happen, so we ask that you always pack an extra pair of clothes and underwear, just in case. We do not do a swim assessment for this group, as they all will be viewed as a Red band automatically and can not swim beyond that section without a life jacket.

Aviators

Ages 6-9 or first through fourth grade
Our elementary aged campers get to experience a little bit of everything that camp has to offer and that is age appropriate for their group. They will follow a schedule along with their group and counselors together. They go to our specific program areas to learn new skills and are lead in activities from their group’s counselors.

Conifers

Ages 10-15 or fifth through tenth grade
These campers get the opportunity to have a more specialized schedule, based on their interests. For two periods a day, they are placed into elective based classes along with our overnight campers to focus on their chosen skills. They also are lead by their counselor in group based activities to have fun and connect with the others in their group.

What should my camper bring to camp?

Your camper should bring:

  • A backpack
  • A water bottle
  • Bathing suit
  • Towel
  • Lunch (unless you purchase the healthy lunch option)
  • Sunscreen
  • Sneakers/close-toed shoes
  • Extra pair of clothing
  • Sweatshirt or raincoat (weather pending)
  • Face mask (not required, optional)
What should my camper not bring to camp?

Your camper should not plan to bring the following items:

  • Money
  • Electronics
  • Anything of personal or monetary value
  • Medications (unless checked in to nurse with appropriate paperwork)
  • Candy or gum
  • Toys or games from home
  • Anything you mind getting a little dirty
Do you do tie dye at camp?

Every Friday is Tie-Dye Friday! Tie dying is optional, but you can either bring something white (labeled with their name) or add the registration extra to the week you would like to receive a white Cory t-shirt.

How to care for your tie-dye:

  • Let it set for at least 8 hours - best results when left for a day or two.
  • Rinse it out - rinse well under running water until excess dye is removed; cut rubber bands if used.
  • Wash and Dry - fill washer to large load setting with hottest water suitable for fabric and a small amount of laundry soap. Wash and dry separately for the first few washes.
What is the Camp Store

The Camp Store is just what it sounds like - a place where the campers can buy Camp Cory souvenirs and snacks. You can put money on your child's account on the parent dashboard or with the staff at check in.
